I am passionate about helping families move out of poverty and to economic mobility.

I bring over 20 years experience in innovation, collaboration, strategic thinking, research, performance measurement and synthesizing and presenting complex information for decision-making. I launched Barczak Consulting in 2024 so I could work with a broad range of organizations that support family well-being. I believe strong supports for very young children are critical in this endeavor, as are comprehensive supports that enable parents and caregivers to help their families thrive.

I have a demonstrated ability to move ideas into action, and deep experience working to improve economic, education, and health outcomes for families and communities.

How I Can Help

I focus on helping organizations design or improve their programs to reach better outcomes for the families they serve. I have special expertise in bringing a two-generation (sometimes called whole-family) lens to the work. This approach builds family well-being by intentionally and simultaneously working with children and the adults in their lives together. It addresses critical components such as early childhood education, post-secondary and employment pathways, economic assets, health and mental health, K-12 education, and social capital. My experience includes working on the ground innovating, designing, and implementing; collaborating with researchers on program evaluation; managing a multi-site demonstration program; identifying and analyzing public policy barriers; providing training and technical assistance; and developing a funding strategy to support community-based organizations.

I am a life-long learner who enjoys working with others to design and implement innovative solutions and to solve complex problems. I have a BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and an MA and PhD in Political Science from the University of California - Davis. I enjoy bicycling, hiking, and volunteering in my community.
